Universal Studios Orlando at Christmas: making the most of your day BOTH PARKS
Come join us as we spend a couple of days at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure at Christmas in Orlando, Florida. We did two full days and this video breaks down our second day including food, wait times, and theming in the park. If you haven't been to Universal during Christmas time, I highly recommend it. There are no indoor places here, but the area for the show is covered. It is hot here, likely raining as well. Soooo...loose clothing and an umbrella are a must. Double check the forecast before you come.

When i went to jungle island 10 years ago we were aloud to touch the parrots that were uncaged. They no longer let you touch the parrots?
We didn't try, there were signs about not touching other animals so we just kept our space. If we go back, I'll ask and post an update. Great question!
Your rosette look great but I suggest in the beguiling you show witch piping tip to use on the bag to make rosette , and show with close up video your technic how you make rosette for people to follow your process because when you make ithem we can’t see the cake is in the front

I have had rosettes fall off the side off a cake. How do you prevent them from not firmly sticking to the cake?
1. A chilled crumbcoat will act as an anchor. Don't make it too thick or it is only acting as a layer instead of anchor and the weight will pull it. 2. A firmer rosette won't wilt as quickly as a soft one. 3. Chill that cake at every step of the process, it acts as a magnet when it's chilled. It also needs to be settled before rosettes are done. At some point the room temperature factor takes place and it won't survive no matter how well you do all the steps. You've got about a 2 hour window at room temp before anything shifts due to heat (hence keeping it chilled prior to service). That time is even shorter when it's in the outdoors or even direct heat.

Hello, thank you very much for the information and your insights, great video. How long does it take to buy a car in Belgium? The decide to buy and pay, and your drive and leave the dealership. Did you buy new or used? Is it okay and logical to buy a new Volvo XC90?
We didn't buy in Belgium however we were tempted by the Volvos lol. If you have all of the paperwork lined up then it should go pretty quickly. I've had a couple of friends buy there and it honestly just varied on the dealerships ability to relay proper information. If you're buying new it should be easier as you don't need to wait on the seller to have a CT for the car.

I can but I choose to make them instead of buying them. It gives me quality and ingredient control. That means no "yuck" ingredients in there. Stores add loads of preservatives and unnecessary dyes, plus they don't typically prioritize organic ingredients but I do at home.

Hi thanks for the video its 10 min but how much time did you spend in total and is it worth it?
Free=worth it in my opinion. We stayed about two hours, maybe a little less, that included the animal show. The kids could have played longer on the playground and we could have slowed the pace easily, but I think it was the perfect amount of time. If you pay for other areas it could be half a day, easily.

2 questions I was hoping you would have talked about. First, what is the mechanic/repair shop situation there for your American spec vehicles? On base options? Local economy shop willing to service your vehicle? Are there part stores that sell correct bulbs, fuses, batteries, wipers, etc.? And second, how was the process getting your vehicles registered and insured? Did that require a Belgian bank account? We're you able to drive your vehicle temporarily while getting that all set up? Thanks! Possibly getting a Belgium assignment and starting my research.
I uses 3 different mechanic/shop situations. The shop on Chievres base did my oil changes and tire rotations. The SHAPE Total did my headlights for the CT, they did new tires when I got a flat (which I ordered off of Amazon. BE and .NE. When I failed my CT for struts I ordered parts from rockauto.com and they shipped the American spec part to my APO. When my husband got in an accident (not his fault) the local shop our insurance sent us to ordered the US spec parts and once they arrived they fixed his car. We paid our car insurance with my Chase Visa and my Well Fargo visa, no need for a Belgian bank account. I highly recommend switching to USAA for insurance abroad. Geico domestic switched us to Geico International and when we came back, Geico Domestic has acted like they've never heard of is, they think we were uninsured for 3 years, and now they won't insure us. Even though it's the same name, same company, domestic and international don't transition back and forth. Every single US based insurance thinks we were uninsured during our time there (even though we provided our Geico International coverage) because they don't recognize international coverage, even if it's Geico.
As for registered, it's easy. My husband just turned in all the paperwork. My car needed an inspection because of its age. I honestly drove around on a US plate for a year and no one ever said anything. It was peak covid and everything was closed, it was just too much for me to handle. I paid a local to take it to the inspection and I paid him again to have his buddy put in the new struts so I would pass. I did. It's actually a very simple inspection process and most centers have someone who speaks English. But registration is on SHAPE and is just a matter of making an appointment.

The Flamingos are filtering the bottom for food. I helped raise one there years ago and they do remember you! The coloration for their feathers comes from their feed . They will follow you around and give nibbles to your hand if your their friend. was so cool to see Watson in the Gibbon enclosure! thanks

Instead of a million presents, here's what we're doing instead: ✨️A family trip Christmas week to Sea World and Universal Studios (we are all about experiences over gifts) ✨️Lots of celebration throughout the month as a family to highlight the importance of being together over gifts ✨️Worshipping Christ via @churchofjesuschristworldwide and with handouts from @heidileeanderson and @mightyoaksandarrows ✨️Small, very carefully selected, gifts on Christmas morning. Legos, science kits, clothes, etc. ✨️Surprising friends with gifts and baked goods also buying gifts for a family in need. 🎄 I totally get that transitioning from gifts to experiences, worship, and service can be hard....it's not all or nothing! @10:20 that's 100% accurate. I'm dealing with it now. Getting a Belgian bank account is a pain and complicated process. They only take payments through Belgian banks for rent and utilities, and they don't accept cash. SHAPE housing and finance advise against it and you need a receipt for everything. I still haven't paid my security deposit and monthly rent for my house. They said I can pay once I have a Belgian bank account 😅
Isn't that so crazy?! That would never fly in the States, for all the weird bureaucratic pieces of the puzzle, their laid back attitude on money is nice. We got accounts through Belfius, while it took 2 visits to get it done the gentleman was so helpful and remained so the entire 3 years. We also used local friends for transfers...we'd give them cash and they'd do the transfer for us. Especially when we hit the deposit limit for the month.
Want to end the case of the Mondays?? My tip for starting the week of right is to do something over the weekend to take the urgency and rush of Monday off of my plate. On Saturday I was able to feed my starter and have it ready for this week's baking while also making banana bread, muffins, and sandwich bread. This means I'm not scrambling Monday morning for any of these things.

What can they learn from a pot of soup? SO MUCH. There are valuable life skills, nutrition information, fine motor skills, reading, listening and execution skills, understanding recipe steps and timing, learning about food and flavor combinations, and more! We have many days that aren't spent in books. This kind of hands on learning is really important to us and as parents we can use small things, like making soup, to teach our kids so many things. Life skills are just as valuable as anything learned in a book. Plus, the hands on learning and sense of achievement is great for their confidence. If they hate cooking, find another task/skill that they could develop outside of the kitchen. Your kids will surprise you!! Today we went to a local university library and my kids got a lesson on call numbers and the Dewey decimal system, they were given a library tour, and even managed to grab a university library card. While I did film her from behind, because it's more natural than me staging her in a grocery store, there's no relation between the two, promise. I am hyper aware and it's just happen chance if that's what you perceive.

But also....don't let it be the rest of your life!! I honestly have an extremely small social battery, so typing online and making videos is easy but get me in person and I'm done lol.
